Pemetic Mountain North East Trail
Length: 1.1 miles form Bubble Pond Parking area to the summit
Difficulty Rating: Moderate/Strenuous
This hike up Pemetic Mountain moves through quiet coniferous woods, over challenging terrain. The initial part of the trail is a combination of granite ledge, small boulders and forest floor with many exposed roots. It’s important to pay attention to the trail markers (blue blazes) as it’s easy to get off trail while following the rough terrain.
At approximately .5 mile in, the trail opens up, offering views of Bubble Pond and West face of Cadillac Mountain. The trail cuts through pockets of woods, with occasional extreme ups and downs before opening up on the ridge close to the summit. The summit has extensive views, but some exploring over the summit just a few hundred yards down the south ridge will expose Jordan Pond and give hikers an added scenic bonus.
