West Ridge Trail
Beech Mountain
Length: .9 mile from the pumping station at the south end of Long Pond to the junction of the Beech Mountain Loop Trail
Difficulty Rating: Moderate/Strenuous
The West Ridge Trail up Beech Mountain is a steep ascent up the west side of Beech Mountain. Initially the trail is fairly level, skirting the side of Long Pond for .3 mile before beginning a more challenging climb up the side of the mountain. The trail becomes more uneven with small boulder and rocky scrambles. The steep grade continues and the substrate changes to granite ledges. The trail connects with the Beech Mountain Loop trail .1 mile from the summit.
