Valley Trail
Beech Mountain
Length: 1.5 miles from the pumping station at the south end of Long Pond to the parking area on Beech Hill Road
Difficulty Rating: Moderate
The Valley trail runs through the valley between Beech Mountain and Beech Cliffs. This trail is useful in connecting the various Beech Mountain hiking trails. Leaving from the pumping station at the south end of Long Pond, the trail gains moderate elevation through coniferous woods, over uneven terrain including exposed roots, small boulders and man-made steps. After passing the junction with the Beech Mountain South Ridge trail, .7 mile from the trail head, the trail travels through an area of glacial erratics (boulders moved by glaciers) until it reaches the Beech Hill road parking area in .8 mile.
