Giant Slide Trail
Sargent Mountain
Length: 1.3 miles from the trail head on Route 198/3 to the Sargent Mountain North Ridge Trail
Difficulty Rating: Moderate/Strenuous
The Giant Slide Trail is a unique hike, following Sargent Brook through its gully. The trail begins a gradual ascent through the woods for approximately .6 mile before crossing a carriage road. At .4 mile from the carriage road intersection, the trail converges with Sargent Brook.
The trail tends to be slippery so hikers should use caution on the rocks. The trail moves across the stream sporadically, frequently going over and under large boulders. The trail intersects with the Sargent Mountain North Ridge trail approximately .3 mile from the overlap of the brook.
