The North Ridge Trail up Cadillac Mountain is a popular ascent up Acadia’s highest peak. The trail moves through mixed forest and over diverse terrain, including granite ledges and small boulders. Initially, the trail moves in and out of tree cover until reaching a higher point on the ridge, becoming more exposed. At 1.5 miles the trail skirts the Auto Road up Cadillac and then veers away, heading directly toward the summit.
