Gorham Mountain Trail
Length: .9 miles from the Gorham Mountain parking area to the summit
Difficulty Rating: Moderate
This popular trail is rewarding for its length and required effort, offering views of Frenchman Bay, Sand Beach, Egg Rock, Schoodic Peninsula and Cadillac, Dorr and Champlain mountains. The trail is routed primarily over granite with occasional man made granite steps.
The trail ascends gradually, moving through mixed woods, and then opens up and overlooks Frenchman Bay approximately .3 miles from the summit. The Gorham Mountain trail continues over the summit and connects to the Bowl trail, providing the option to extend your hike or create a loop. A gratifying loop is hiking over the summit, down the north side of Gorham Mountain and down the Bowl trail to the Loop road, taking the Ocean path back to the Gorham Mountain parking area.
