East Face Trail
Champlain Mountain
Length: .3 mile from the park Loop Road to the junction with the Champlain North Ridge Trail
Difficulty Rating: Moderate
This section of the Champlain East Face trail is the only currently open portion of the trail. The remainder of the trail, following the cliffs and connecting to the Precipice is closed because of earthquake damage sustained in 2006. The open section of the trail is a popular route for descending Champlain after climbing the Precipice. Hikers looking for a less severe descent can follow the North Ridge down, joining the East Face trail and following it .3 mile down to the Park Loop Road.
