Cadillac Cliff's Trail
Gorham Mountain
Length: .3 mile
Difficulty Rating: Moderate with some steeper sections
The Cadillac Cliffs trail is a spur off the Gorham Mountain trail. This trail splits from Gorham Mountain trail .2 mile in at the plaque dedicated to Waldron Bates, a member of the Village Improvement Society. The Society was a group of citizens dedicated to building hiking trails and protecting the natural resources of the area before the establishment of the National Park. The trail moves over uneven granite slabs and boulders, showcasing ancient sea caves, evidence of the last glacial period that affected the area. This trail reconnects with the Gorham Mountain trail.
It may be easier for most hikers to ascend this portion of the trail rather than descend. A good hiking loop would include climbing the Cadillac Cliffs trail, connecting with the Gorham mountain trail to the summit, then traveling down the Gorham Mountain trail.
